About 7 years ago, these weak sidestands were on the market. If you compare them to the genuine part they are a fair bit lighter. I bought one and found that it soon bent.

If you have a genuine part , the side stand is up to the job. However, the fakes look identical to the manufacturer's article- you can only find out if it isn't genuine is to weigh it

did it just bend like that while parked on the side stand?

I had it in the back of the van like I've had with many other MTS it seems that there are two types of stand out there.

I have two stands here one that seems solid and weighs 830g and the other that bent which seems hollow and weighs 400g
