Its not always the ethanol in the fuel!

Post by phil » Mon Jun 15, 2015 5:10 pm

Went over to my brothers at the weekend to help him revive his XTZ660 that had remained dormant for 3 years and wouldn't start. Confident that it would be the carbs bunged up with crud from modern petrol I made him buy a tin of carb cleaner in readiness.
However on removing the air filter element in preparation for removing the carbs a couple of kilos of lentils and risotto rice spilled out. On removing the seat I discovered the culprit, a mouse had nested in the intake trumpet and completely filled the air box with its winter store!
A quick eviction and hovering the airbox and it started!

 Love it.

Had a mate with the same problem with his MX5 after being garaged over winter. Bloody squirrels had filled his air box with nuts.
