I have no knowledge of Gates and whether suitable or not .

The recommended part for the Rotax is the Dayco belt as sold by the usual suppliers .(Sportax, Force , LMS) It is designed to stand up to the stresses of a motorcycle engine .

personally speaking I would not use anything else.

The ones definitely not to fit on bikes are machine belts which are really just designed to run at a steady speed under no sudden loads . some of these are very cheap and may let you down very quickly-.

What Ian says!! We had a problem as a group a couple of years ago with not using the correct belt with breakdowns at roadside etc.

I bought one from a supplier (No longer in business) that was advertised as for the MT350 and it lasted less than a fortnight :-( I never bought anything from that person again.

Caveat emptor :-)
