Re: MT500's in use by the UK Post Office?

I have just remembered , bikes made for use in Northern Ireland were produced in red. I don't know the exact numbers but about 50 comes to mind. The reason was to avoid creating tension by riding a military coloured bike. Anyone finding a red bike stands a far greater chance of having an ex NI bike ...

Re: MT500's in use by the UK Post Office?

Another question; Is there a manufacturers database of frame/engine numbers anywhere? Any clues might lead to Rome. Bunker used to keep a record of MT500 bikes, you may be lucky and find your bike recorded. As for frame and engine numbers, it was far more efficient for the military to remove an eng...

Re: Paint colour to match HD plastics

There is no single 'right' colour for an MT350., there is no paint code in any manual. Reportedly IRR paint lost its Infra Red Reflecting properties after six months and wasn't effective. The panniers were supposed to hide the heat signature from the engine but were ineffective So Sigean go with the...

Re: 3 row no. plates

The choice is entirely you're, if the MOT guy is known to be flexible, you could be fine. If you ask him in advance, he may refuse to pass it As for flexibility, the world has changed. Bunker for example , along with other specialist vehicle owners club heads, used to be able to certify the date of ...

Re: 3 row no. plates

Looks like I will have to go the way of the MOT 'special' plate. ' That sounds like a good plan. I don't think you'd be the first to have an ' MOT special ' plate. If you don't the tester could easily, and should, fail your bike. What you do after the bike is off his premises isn't his conce...

Re: Paint colour to match HD plastics

See Technical/Mods and Fixes/Paint Also check out General /Teeshirts, I think you have No32 The frame , tank, side panels , headlamp housing, were all different colours ex factory and the panels weren't painted.. I have never seen any official document specifying the MT350 colour. The MT500 document...

Re: Looking for an MT500.

Ah, pressed button B and didn't get my money back... I am now the owner of an MT500 that is in need of TLC (as I suspect most are when they have been in not-so-careful hands). The oil and biblical filter (plus primary), being the first port of call. As I come across problems and issues I'll post th...
