Welcome to the forum

2 wheeled 80s landrover is about right. Maintain it and you get good service, fail to maintain for long enough and reliability suffers.

Discs and electric boot are desirable These days upgrades to 348 engine are available so you can have more power.

Re: Mt350 cruising speed?

The one thing it is impossible to do on an MT is bottom out your suspension. If you hit a kerb at speed, you'll dent the rim , I've seen Minter do just that but he was competing at the time and he doesn't bimble. I somehow suspect that dropping an MT by parachute would be a ' Dont try this at home, ...

Re: Mt350 cruising speed?

I had a CB1300S gathering dust in the garage whilst I enjoyed myself riding a standard MT350 ( I had two on the road so one of my mates would often ride with me ). One owner rode an MT350 2-up to Moscow and back As long as you don't suffer from A road ' get-thereitess' you'll be fine. It would meet ...

Re: Mt350 cruising speed?

I've seen riders swap from a 15 to a 14 front sprocket on MT350s prior to off roading and I think one rider does the same prior to riding up alpine passes with an MT+sidecar Would-be speedsters have tried a 16 tooth but found that there just isn't enough power As mentioned 55mph is comfortable for f...

Re: Seat height

Welcome to the forum.

The shortest rider on the forum is 5ft 3 and 1/2in. He rides an MT350 with front forks slid up through the handlebars, MT500 or Hagon rear shocks(shorter) and his sandle sculpted out . Heavy duty off road tyres can also be swapped for lower profile more road biased tyres

Re: Rotax 604 in a snowmobile?

I once read that the Rotax 348/504/604 engine had been used in other applications than motorcycles. Does anybody know if there is any truth to that and if so, in what were they fitted. /JWR Since they started ( originally in Germany), Rotax have made over 50 engine types in different categories, th...

Welcome to the forum

You aren't the first to have a new modern bike that functions perfectly, but finds the lure of an MT impossible to resist. Upgrades to the 350 engine are now available if you need more power. Enjoy your 'new' MT

Re: Sapper returns

Welcome back, did you attend the Big Meet in 2013, arriving by car ? You had an MT350 with a 604 fitted but ill health prevented you riding.
