Re: Muppetry

I've had the same thing, with an ACL tear (rugby).
The sit-on-foot-and-pull-knee test isn't very accurate and delayed me getting fixed up by a year.

MRI will make everything clear at the start so is easier to target what to do for your recovery etc.

Intact Airbox

After melting the bottom of mine on the exhaust I'm thinking of replacing it with one with the trumpets still attached - as the intake noise was getting on my nerves.

Does anyone have one? Or have we all chopped them up ;-)

If not I'll try a cone thingy as a full replacement..

North Coast 500 and Orkney

I've taken my MT350 for a bit of a trip around the north west coast of Scotland and crossed over to Orkney as its so close! Loads of hilly single track roads here which suit the MT very well > comfy to ride, carries loads of luggage and doesn't have to go fast ;-) I'm over a thousand KM in and have ...

Re: scottish members

I'm in Edinburgh and would be interested in a team ride.

We haven't got greenlanes but have plenty of B roads ;-)

Re: 10 days of riding in

Were handguards fitted to your bike? Storm S3s fit perfectly and dry hands always increase the comfort level ;-) Is that a direct fit onto the OEM metal guards or getting the whole unit (plastic and metal) Cheers Pete If I remember right they come with self tapping screws that go straight into the ...

Re: 10 days of riding in

Welcome to riding MTs! There are a few top jobs to make the bike feel a bit better and a couple more 'if you feel like it' Bit of a hassle now that you are using it everyday, but whipping the carb of and having it ultrasonically cleaned makes a HUGE difference. Carb cleaner, squirts of air etc just ...

Re: Low beam blowing

It is also worth making (or buying from rex) a relay connection for the light circuit - there are how to instructions on here.

Re: Selecting second gear

If it's only second that give a problem I'd say the lever is getting stuck on the case: it has gone low to give 1st from neutral and catches on the lip. Use a tyre lever etc to gently bend the lever out a bit- this has happened to a few bikes and scratches on the case by the gear lever are a dead gi...

Re: What have you done to your MT today ? contd

Stripped my front forks and replaced the seals, added new oil etc. Fairly straightforward job thanks to Joths tutorial but what a hassle removing the old seal was! After alot of unsuccessful levering and nibbling with wire cutters I just packed up my gear, dashed to the shops and brought an oil seal...
