Re: Armstrong owner

Hello, I’ve had my MT500 since 2002 but unfortunately it hasn’t run since 2008 when it lost compression. I’m intending to get it going this year because I have had a lot of fun with it in the past. Did it loose compression gradually over time or was this a sudden event? Reason for asking is that if...

You'll be well clear of the trams - just watch out for the nasty roundabouts!

Re: New MT500 owner needs parts

I used to have a box full of old indicators and parts I took from the MT's I rebuilt. I'll have to check later whether I've still got the box but I may have decided to through it out eventually? That said, the indicator pods are <£20 each from the normal suppliers (Force and LMS).

Re: Mt 500 not charging

Hi Ford. First off - has your MT500 got the original 7-terminal regulator/rectifier (R/R) on top of the air filter box? If so, the connections are as follows: 1: alternator input 2: unused 3: ground out 4: sense input 5: charging signal output 6: 12 V output 7: alternator input The first thing I wou...

Re: New member

Hello, I bought my first Mt two days ago and have so far covered 240km on it....but still can't start it from cold  I am near Newport in South Wales In my experience, the most important thing to appreciate about the MT500 is that engine will not start if it gets flooded. This will happen by th...

Re: 350 crank case breathing

I'm not sure of the exact arrangement on the MT350 but on the slightly later BMW F650 Rotax engine, the engine breather is via a passageway from the crankcase into the generator cover and then out through the external breather tube. I assume the MT350 has an equivalent arrangement and does not actua...

Basically, the bike was used by the 8th Artillery Support Regiment Royal Logistics Corp with 13 Transport Squadron attached to a particular artillery unit. Its main task would have been to escort supply vehicles for the unit.

Re: Bike in the South West- tidy MT500 or maybe an MT350

The B40WD is a very nice little bike but the very low lower gears makes for some interesting riding on normal roads :)
